TOUR DESCRIPTION

Early morning fly-outs are one of the most memorable experiences at the Woodbridge Ecological Reserve. As the sun rises, cranes leave their overnight roosts in the wetlands and fly to nearby fields to feed. Their distinctive rattling calls and large flocks taking flight make for an impressive start to the morning.

Led by crane expert Paul Tebbel, this tour offers an opportunity to learn about Sandhill Crane behavior, migration, and conservation while observing them in their natural habitat. Depending on weather conditions and crane activity, the group may also travel along Woodbridge Road to watch cranes feeding in the surrounding fields.

-Please drive carefully when arriving. Woodbridge Road is narrow, and deep canals border portions of the roadway.
