TOUR #1426 – Early morning Crane Fly-out with Dr. Gary Ivey, #1
TOUR DESCRIPTION
Experience one of the best times of day to observe Sandhill Cranes at the Woodbridge Ecological Reserve. As the sun rises, cranes leave their overnight roosts in the wetlands and fly to nearby fields to feed. Their distinctive rattling calls and large flocks taking flight make for an unforgettable wildlife experience.
Led by Dr. Gary Ivey, this tour offers the opportunity to learn about Sandhill Crane behavior, migration, and conservation from one of the nation’s leading crane biologists. Depending on weather conditions and crane activity, the group may also caravan along Woodbridge Road to observe cranes feeding in the surrounding fields.
