TOUR DESCRIPTION

This is the festival’s most popular tour. Enjoy your drive through the Sierra foothills to Pardee Reservoir, where you will board a boat with East Bay Municipal Utility District naturalists and biologists. They will take you around the reservoir (which is closed to the public this time of year) to see early arriving Golden and Bald Eagles, as well as other raptors, including Osprey, that frequent the area. This boat tour also offers uncommon bird species not seen on other tours, including loons, grebes, mergansers, and Bufflehead Ducks. In years past, bobcats, deer and other mammals have been spotted. Dress for the weather and bring your binoculars!

WALKING DISTANCE & TERRAIN

This tour includes travel aboard a small bus and a small boat. Participants must be able to board and exit the bus by climbing several steps. The tour also includes boarding and exiting a small boat. Walking is limited but may include short distances from the bus to the boat over fairly flat surfaces that may be uneven, including dirt and gravel areas.
