DESCRIPTION:TOUR DESCRIPTION\nEnjoy an accessible\, limited-mobility-friendly experience through the wetlands of the Cosumnes River Preserve. This guided tour includes an approximately half-mile walk along accessible pathways to the boardwalk\, where participants will explore the wetlands alongside knowledgeable naturalist guides. Along the way\, guides will help spot wintering birds and share insights about the Preserve’s wildlife and habitats\, with plenty of opportunities to pause\, observe\, and enjoy the winter landscape at a comfortable pace. Benches are available along the route and at the boardwalk\, providing places to sit\, rest\, and take in the surrounding scenery. This tour is designed to accommodate participants who prefer a slower-paced experience with minimal physical exertion. what about people who cannot walk 1/2 mile no matter how slow the pace? Maybe including letting the tour guide if you want to sit and rest and not go any further. \n  \nTRANSPORTATION\nPersonal car \n  \nWALKING DISTANCE & TERRAIN\nSlower paced walk on flat surface that is mostly paved. DESCRIPTION:TOUR DESCRIPTION\nEnjoy a relaxing evening cruise\, through the waterways of the California Delta\, as the day transitions into sunset. Accompanied by a licensed local boat operator and a birder/naturalist\, you’ll explore prime habitat for waterfowl and other wildlife during one of the most active times of day. \nAs the sun begins to set\, watch for flocks of geese and ducks flying overhead\, while scanning the shoreline for the many birds and mammals that call the Delta home. Sandhill Cranes and Tundra Swans may also be seen as they return to evening roosting areas. The changing light and peaceful scenery make this tour an excellent opportunity for wildlife viewing\, photography\, and experiencing the Delta at day’s end. \n  \nTRANSPORTATION\nPersonal car \n  \nWALKING DISTANCE & TERRAIN\nThis tour begins on paved surfaces and includes travel to the boat boarding area\, where some uneven ground may be encountered. Boarding and disembarking the boat requires stepping between the dock and the vessel. Paul managed National Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary on the Platte River in Nebraska from 1995-2006. CDFW Docents will give a presentation on the cranes in a private viewing area.
