This roving tour will eventually end up at the Cosumnes River Preserve or other location to watch for the evening fly-in. If you are looking to increase your knowledge about Sandhill Cranes\, in a small group setting with the opportunity to ask questions\, this tour is for you. \nDr. Ivey works with the International Crane Foundation as a Research Associate and is an expert on Sandhill Cranes in the Pacific Flyway. He has worked with wildlife for over 40 years\, concentrating his work on waterbirds\, waterfowl\, and wetland conservation. He studied nesting ecology of Sandhill Cranes for his Master’s Thesis and wintering ecology of Sandhill Cranes for his PhD\, both from Oregon State University. \n  \nTRANSPORTATION\nCharter Bus \n  \nWALKING DISTANCE & TERRAIN\nThis tour is conducted aboard a small bus with multiple stops throughout the route. Participants must be able to board and exit the bus several times during the tour by climbing several steps. Depending on weather conditions and crane activity\, the group may also caravan along Woodbridge Road to observe cranes feeding in the surrounding fields. \n  \nTRANSPORTATION\nPersonal car \n  \nWALKING DISTANCE & TERRAIN\nThis tour is fully accessible and requires limited physical effort. This tour requires the ability to stand for at least an hour.
